چکیده

Change of land use cover (LULC) has been known globally as an essential driver environmental change. Assessment LULC change is the most precise method to comprehend past use, types changes be estimated, forces and developments behind changes. The aim study was assess temporal spatial dynamics predict future using Landsat images LCM (Land Modeler) by considering drivers dynamics. research conducted in Nashe watershed (Ethiopia) which main tributary Upper Blue Nile basin. total area 94,578 ha. imagery from 2019, 2005, 1990 used for evaluating predicting spatiotemporal distributions image prediction generated depending on historical trends years 2035 2050. integrated TerrSet Geospatial Monitoring Modeling System assimilated with MLP CA-Markov chain have monitoring, assessment change, projections. Markov generate transition probability matrices between classes cellular automata were map. Validation predicted map 2019 successfully actual validation accuracy determined Kappa statistics agreement/disagreement marks. results depicted that forest land, grass range are affected use. agricultural 41,587.21 ha increased 57,868.95 average growth rate 39.15%. declined annually rates 48.38%, 19.58%, 26.23%, respectively. shows will further degrade 16.94% 8.07% 2050, while would expanded 69,021.20 69,264.44 2050 2019. findings this investigation indicate expected rapid coming years. Converting area, into other uses, especially future. Measures should implemented achieve rational conversion needs well managed.

Land-Use Change Modelling in the Upper Blue Nile Basin

Land-use and land-cover changes are driving unprecedented changes in ecosystems and environmental processes at different scales. This study was aimed at identifying the potential land-use drivers in the Jedeb catchment of the Abbay basin by combining statistical analysis, field investigation and remote sensing. To do so, a land-use change model was calibrated and evaluated using the SITE (SImul...

Modeling Land-use and Land-cover Change

Models are used in a variety of fields, including land change science, to better understand the dynamics of systems, to develop hypotheses that can be tested empirically, and to make predictions and/or evaluate scenarios for use in assessment activities. Modeling is an important component of each of the three foci outlined in the science plan of the Land-use and -cover change (LUCC) project (Tu...

Influence of Land Use/land Cover Change on Saint Louis Bay Watershed Modeling

Saint Louis Bay Watershed is a coastal watershed located in southern Mississippi, which composes two basins: Jordan River Basin and Wolf River Basin. Two land use/land cover (LULC) datasets: the Geographic Information Retrieval and Analysis System (GIRAS) and the National Land Cover Data (NLCD) are applied on these two basins to simulate the hydrologic and water quality parameters by using the ...

Impact of urban land cover change on land surface temperature

The rapid growth in urban population is seen to create a need for the development of more urban infrastructures. In order to meet this need, natural surfaces such as vegetation are been replaced with non-vegetated surfaces such as asphalt and bricks which has the ability to absorb heat and release it later. This change in land cover is seen to increase the land surface temperature. Previous stu...

Investigation of the process of land cover change using metrics and land change processes in Gorganrood watershed

Aims and Background: The present study purpose to investigate and predict the changes of metrics and Landscape change processes in the Gorganrood watershed in Golestan province.  Methodology: First, land cover maps were prepared in 1990, 2000, 2010 and 2020. Then predict land cover changes for future conditions, under two scenarios (1) continuation of the current trend of change for 2040 and (...
